Warm Hospitality - Elegant AmbienceThe delectable "Restaurant at Pontac" is located in the beautifully restored old barn of this historic estate. The setting on the slopes of Paarl Rock is exceptional. Patrons dine al fresco on the cosy front porch or inside in a restaurant decorated with quirky coloured African wall hangings and ceiling drapes. Bricked-in chicken nests, antique window frames with deep-set ledges and original stone fireplaces add to the ambience, which is delightfully informal with the accent on country hospitality, offset by elegant tableware and professional service. Private dining is offered in the Board Room (24 seats) or in the Red Room (12 seats), upon request    Good Food, Good Wine, Good Service! Since opening in January 2000, the restaurant has gained acclaim as a venue where good food, good wine and good service are par for the course! Paying tribute to our French heritage (Pontac was founded by Pierre du Labuscaigne in the 1700’s), the new menu line-up for the season includes an interesting bistro style selection, ranging from traditional French onion soup with parmesan croutons, through steak béarnaise and moules frites, to bouillabaisse and boeuf a la Bourgignon. And of course the dessert menu would not be replete without the typical crème Brûlèe, crepe suzette and torte tarte meringue. It goes without saying that fish lovers and vegetarians are also catered for, with a choice of catch of the day and tasty veggie dishes and Bistro Salads changing weekly. Established in 2000, The Restaurant at Pontac has long enjoyed a high reputation for good cuisine and a warm and inviting ambience, with an affordable wine list offering some interesting local options. We believe that local wines should be enjoyed by everyone, so guests will be pleased to note that our wine list offers a wide range of options from value for money winners to pick-of-the-crop top notch wines.
